I am not a writer.
I had never heard of “blogs” until a friend of mine sent me to this one, and then I found another blog, with this post that won me over. If you click NO other link in this blog, click that one. You won’t be sorry!
Completely enthralled, I quickly became addicted to reading these humorous (and sometimes painful) glimpses into the mind of a regular, everyday person just like me, only much more interesting. I began to think that I might be interesting, too, and should of course start a blog!
I am a mid-thirty something year old mom of 3 from Oregon. I don’t quite fit in without Birkenstocks and my Greenpeace subscription, but I try. I have not hugged an actual tree since moving to Oregon 16 years ago. I do, however, hug my loved ones often.
I work from home as a graphic designer and webmaster, spending my time taking care of my home, my kids, my business and my hobbies.
I also suffer from Fibromyalgia (thus the staying-home thing), which I find to be the most ridiculous disorder ever discovered. It makes people like me, driven and creative people with purpose in their lives, experience intense and constant pain throughout the entire body and renders the mind unable to think straight. So generally it makes you feel about eighty years old. We are stiff and sore, tired and cranky and most of the time under the influence of far too many medications. At some point I expect you will read about and begin to empathize with my plight. It’s fun. Really .
Finally, like everyone raised in California (who then moved to Oregon) I am a singer/songwriter. You might find links to these songs and maybe even a real live album (or CD if you’re under 30) to listen to. Be kind. That sticks and stones thing? Not true. I can take a bit of constructive criticism, but keep in mind that comments like “resembles the screeching death of African vultures” might hurt my feelings. I might retaliate.
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your visit!
