Let’s Get Freaky-Deaky!
Ok, ya’ll, I know you do it. Don’t try to deny it, and then look at me like I’m the freak.
You know what I’m talking about.
You don’t?
Oh. Er, uhm.
I’m referring to the other night when my 17 yr old son came in the kitchen without a shirt and I suddenly became frighteningly obsessed with the huge whitehead on his shoulder. My sweet boy just stood there while his just-a-little-batpoo-crazy-mom wrenched on his tender skin trying to empty evil blemish. Have I mentioned my OCD on this blog yet? No?
My husband walked in and frowned at me.
“Leave the boy’s pimples alone. Let his wife do that for him!”
I also might have failed to mention that I subject my husband to my OCD by making him lay on his stomach while I take care of the skin on his back. What? I don’t want him walking around with zits on his back, and if I can be the one to keep that from happening, then I’m happy to be of service! Plus I seriously start to twitch if I see a zit and can’t pop it.
Even in public.
Which is why I ask you, the public, today’s “excuse me?” question:
Name one slightly-off-the-normal-grid habit between you and your significant other. Please. PLEASE. Help me feel less freakish. Do you clip his nails? Do you shave her legs? Or maybe it goes deeper than that….
The truth is I would feel SO much better if you just made me look like less of a crazy person shared some of your personal details with me.
Don’t make me post a poll…

I’m disgusted by other people’s stuff like that so uh, I can’t chime in!

Ewww! No, I leave bodily grooming to him. The only time I have to do any grooming is cutting his hair, the whole military thing ya know. And I hate doing that!

My wife occasionally clips my nails. Usually involves filing with multiple files (mostly soft) and some lotion.
I take care of her back (skin, muscles, whatever).

My ex wasn’t especially hairy, but once in the while he’d get “stray” back hairs, and I was TOTALLY OCD about having to pull them out. They just irked me every time I stared at them. He learned to deal with it pretty quick.

I’m guilty of the same OCD tendencies. Drives the poor guy crazy!
