Getting My Bass In Gear

It’s time I admitted to you, internets, that I have a sickness. It keeps me up, well, at sunrise at least, most mornings. It keeps me away from my family for extended periods of time. In fact, not only do I do it when I should be working or caring for my husband children, I do it alone. In junior high they told it’s time to seek help for your addiction when find yourself doing it alone. I totally do it alone.

I realize that I gave it away. I also realize that you aren’t falling for that anymore since the Lime Strip Incident. That was at the old blog. I can’t find the link. Basically I professed my undying love to someone who was not my husband and it turned out to be the Lime Strips in Taco Bell’s taco salad. I miss them terribly, by the way. We parted ways but remain close friends.

Fishing. I’m talking about fishing. I went today. I caught a trophy bass today. TROPHY, people!

Seriously. This girl was nearly 5 pounds. In case you’re not schooled in angling-lingo, that’s a very large small mouth bass. See my hand in it’s mouth? My entire fist could have fit in there. I was holding it for dear life because I knew it would jump to life at any moment, lunging for my face to suck out my brains. Or possibly it just really wanted off that boat. We put her in the live hold (live! hold! on! a! boat!) and got her color back in her stripes, then set her free. We’ll discuss the fact that I am now completely convinced we must buy a bass boat in another post.

No really. Have you seen all the compartments and such? It even has a COOLER for heaven’s sake!

The only requirement to buy aforementioned bass boat would be us moving out of the lower middle class income. And you know, maybe getting rid of some of our debt. Or all of it. And possibly getting a huge inheritance. Or willing the lottery.

What? It could happen! Luck is with me! Look at that fish!
